I was checking some facts about spending and came across a startling fact. In 1975 the deficit was $53.2 billion and in 2012 entitlement fraud was estimated at $125 billion. If that is not a reason to cut entitlement spending I don't know what would be. I was commenting about the military retiree cuts in this 2013 HR933 budget that passed the house, and received grief from many left wingers about how the military wastes so much money, etc. I would much rather give my tax dollars to soldier who are on 24/7 to protect my freedoms and to pay for their EARNED Pensions, then let my tax dollars go to a twenty-something high school dropout who has attention deficit disorder and is on social security, or to many of the welfare abusers who continue to have children to get money or to drug addicts that sell food-stamps for drugs. At least these veterans worked for their monies. They paid by the sacrifices of being a soldier and should receive their promised pensions. These brave men and women CONTRIBUTED to society and assured us of our freedoms, they weren't succubus' on the government teat.
